Description
Carboxypeptidase B is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of basic amino acids —lysine, arginine, and histidine — from the C-terminal end of polypeptides. It has a calculated molecular weight of 34 kDa, an optimal pH of 8.0, and an isoelectric point (pI) of 6.0. The enzyme is competitively inhibited by arginine and lysine, and is also inhibited by citric acid and metal-chelating agents such as EDTA.
Marvelgent's recombinant Carboxypeptidase B is expressed in E.coli and is purified by high pressure liquid chromatography. No trace contamination with proteases, such as carboxypeptidase A or chymotrypsin, nor protease inhibitors such as PMSF.
